Possible new uniforms for the ‘Cats?

Northwestern has had some good uniforms over the years. The black ones from ’95 are always going to be popular, but I think Fitz has made it clear that purple needs to be the main jersey color.
We stumbled across this picture, and I really have no idea if this is out there in the public or if this is a possibility or not. These uniforms are simple, yet classy. I really like them, to be honest.

Yours are pretty cool. I think every good program has a standard, boring, classic uniform that just stays around. Not all this changing of uniforms.
Yeah, I agree. I think we have the history (Northwestern striping) needed to create something that is timeless and will require only minor tweaks along the way.
At least we’ve probably settled on that timeless helmet. It helps that they created the Northwestern “N” logo a few decades ago.
More reports like this are starting to appear. Some seem very solid and well-placed.

It’s certainly nice to see the Northwestern striping back.
My problem with recentg unis…football or basketball..is the color is off. They often “read” blue, not purple, especiallay on TV. Same thing with the color of the border on the fllor at Welsh-Ryan. I’ve often had friends say, I thought NU wears purple? What gives? This is no minor shortcominmg and need sot be fixed.
I have no problem with going back to the Northwestern stripes if that is indeed what it is in store. However, and I concede I may be in the minority here, I do not want to say any return to black as anything other than an accent color. The colors are purple and white not purple and black. Besides, black unis aren’t distinctive anymore. Do we really want to look like TCU?
I don’t like these unis at all. I like black in the uniform, but not in the pants. I’d have to agree with sportsbiz that the pants should be white if the jersey is purple. I think that old fashioned unis are great for fans that have followed NU before, but more modern unis will appeal to others who see our games on TV. That includes some recruits. I really like TCU’s uni as well as Oregon’s. If this is true then they could make this uniform much better by changing the font of the number to something more interesting, like what we had in 2004.
